The Mary Baldwin softball team split a conference doubleheader against Brevard on Friday, dropping the first game 11-4 before bouncing back to win the second game 6-0. Game 1 In the opener, Mary Baldwin struck first as freshman Dana Micone hit an RBI triple. Brevard responded in the third inning, scoring five runs to take a 6-1 lead. The Fighting Squirrels answered in the fifth when senior Cassidy Newcomb doubled to right-center field, driving in senior Santrice Rush from second base.
