Pitching Leads as Baseball Tops Washington College
ST. DAVIDS, Pa.鈥� With solid pitching and a balanced offense, Eastern University Baseball picked up an 8-3 non-league win over the visiting Washington College Shoremen. Trevor Harris and Matt Gonglik each knocked in three runs and Eastern’s six pitchers held the visitors’ high-powered offense to only three runs and two extra-base hits. Peter Mellana came on in the fifth to pick up his first win of the year. Eastern starter Zachary Alphonso escaped trouble in the first when he picked off a runner before giving up a two-out double.
