Washington, D.C. – Duquesne freshman Sylvia Kashak was named Atlantic 10 Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week following a standout outdoor season opener, the conference announced Wednesday. Kashak continued her momentum from a record-setting indoor campaign at the Charlotte 49er Classic, winning the 800 meters in 2:10.11 — more than two seconds ahead of the field. The Jefferson Hills, Pa. product also placed second in the 1,500 meters in 4:29.94, a time that ranks fourth in program history, while her 800-meter mark moves her to fifth all-time at Duquesne.
