GHS Soccer Girls Win First Three
The Greenville High School girls soccer squad is off to a great start in its 2026 season with three straight victories, all shutouts. The third one came Tuesday at home. The Lady Comets recorded a 4-0 win. Emma Veith scored two of the goals, while Tinley Walker and Braelyn Andris had one goal each. Veith was credited with an assist. In goal for the shutout was Maddie Backert. She made four saves. The GHS soccer girls opened the season with a 6-0 decision at East Alton-Wood River. Veith had three goals in the contest.
