Baseball Surges Past Tigers in 8-4 Win
The Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team (11-10, 3-5 ODAC) put together a strong offensive showing, defeating Hampden-Sydney 8-4 at home. On the mound, Jacob Lawrence started and tossed 3.1 innings while allowing just one run. Will Payne came in relief and pitched 3.2 innings to earn the win, he allowed one hit, one run, and had two strikeouts. The bullpen combination of Mason Sylvest and Chase Depalma helped secure the victory, limiting Hampden-Sydney to three runs over the final innings.
