SXU Baseball Sweeps CCAC Player of the Week Awards
CHICAGO 鈥� Junior pitcher Cole Martz (Huntington, Ind./Kankakee/Huntington North) and junior infielder John Simecek (Twinsburg, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) claimed the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week awards, respectively, for the Saint Xavier University baseball team (14-8/5-3 CCAC) when the awards were announced by the league office Tuesday morning. Martz threw a complete game with nine strikeouts in a 6-1 victory in game two of the four game series with Indiana University South Bend, a series the Cougars swept.
