Deacs Secure Tie for 11th in Strong Field at Valspar Collegiate
PALM CITY, Fla. 鈥� After a complete team effort and a strong final round, the Wake Forest men’s golf team wrapped up play at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at Floridian Golf Club on Tuesday. In the final round, the Deacs posted their second team under-par round to finish tied for 11th with No. 13 Pepperdine. Wake Forest closed at 836 (-16), ahead of national powers No. 8 Arizona State and No. 24 Southern California. Led by three rounds of par or better, Jakob Melin paced the Deacs this week.
