NEWARK, N.J. – Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders used a dominant middle-inning outburst to power past John Jay, 16-8, on Tuesday afternoon. After being held scoreless through the first three innings, Rutgers-Newark broke through in the fourth and quickly seized control. The Scarlet Raiders added two runs in the fifth before erupting for eight runs in the sixth inning, blowing the game open.
