Fagundes Named LEC Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
PROVIDENCE, R.I. 鈥� The Little East Conference has announced its weekly honorees in women’s track and field and UMass Dartmouth student-athlete Elizabeth Fagundes has been recognized as the Rookie Field Athlete of the Week. It marks the first recognition of the season for the freshman. Fagundes, who hails from New Bedford, Mass., took seventh overall in her collegiate debut of the javelin throw at Wesleyan’s J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic last weekend. She posted a throw of 30.02 meters (98′ 6″). She also competed in the 100-meter hurdles on Saturday, taking 17th overall with a personal best time of 19.65.…
