Knights compete at pair of California meets
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Carleton College men’s track & field team had a half-dozen runners in action on Saturday competing at a pair of Spring Break meets in California. At the Johnny Mathis Invitational hosted by San Francisco State, Gus Schafer made his outdoor debut and crossed the line in the 5000-meter run at 15:34.58, a nearly 37-second improvement over his previous collegiate-best. He was second in his heat and 25th of 49 finishers in a field that included 23 current NCAA Division II racers.
