SoCal heat wave doesn’t slow down Knights in outdoor opener

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Carleton College men’s track & field team opened the outdoor season with a small contingent competing at the Redlands Invitational. Student-athletes had to contend with record-high temperatures of 102 degrees at the start of the meet, more than 30 degrees above the Southern California average for this time of year. Rookie Reed White was the first Knight to hit the outdoor track, clocking a time of 17.61 in the 110-meter hurdles. Three Knights raced in the 100-meter dash.
