McMurphy, Sawicki Lead Women鈥檚 Track & Field on Final Day of W&L Carnival
LEXINGTON, Va. – First-years Mad McMurphy and Elizabeth Sawicki of the Washington and Lee University women’s track and field team earned top finishes in their respective events on the final day of the W&L Carnival. HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET Elizabeth Sawicki and Mad McMurphy both turned in first-place finishes this afternoon for the Blue and White. McMurphy earned gold in the pole vault after clearing a height of 3.53m (11′-07.00″), which is tied for the third-best mark in program history alongside teammate Layla Keadle, who also cleared the height this afternoon to finish in second place.
