LIU Bats Drive In 24 Runs in Doubleheader Sweep of Stonehill
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Long Island University softball team continued its unbeaten start to NEC play with a doubleheader sweep of Stonehill College on Saturday, defeating the Skyhawks by scores of 7-3 and 17-1. Junior Jen Rodriguez opened scoring with an RBI single to right field, putting LIU up 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning. While Stonehill tied and took the the lead with three runs across the third and fourth innings, three Shark runs in the bottom of the fifth inning put LIU ahead 4-3.
