Trashaun Smith Sets Men鈥檚 Triple Jump Outdoor Record
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. 鈥� Marshall Track & Field opened its 2026 outdoor season by taking command at the Hampton Inn River City Relays, with three Herd men’s triple jumpers breaking Floyd Johnson’s 1996 record. Freshman Trashaun Smith – the Indoor Sun Belt Conference champion in the event – led the group with a 15.43m jump. Otenidi Omot (15.37m) and Cam Hamby (15.24m) all surpassed the previous mark. The Herd collected a slew of event victories, including multiple victories over the two days from Smith, Bay’Andria Hodges and Gradian Graham. Marshall had 12 event victories total.
