New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York New Paltz opened up SUNYAC play with a 10-0, eight-inning shutout win over visiting Fredonia Friday in Game 1 of its three-game series on Loren Campbell Field. The Hawks improved to 7-5 overall, as Michael Weed notched his first win of the year in an ace performance. He tossed 7.1 innings and had a no-hitter going through the top of the seventh and finished the day yielding just three hits, three walks and matched a career-high with eight strikeouts.
