Owls Have Strong Season Debut at UH
HOUSTON – The Rice women's track and field team had a great first weekend of competition in the team's outdoor debut at the Kirk Baptiste Invite. The Owls had a great showing in the 1500m, with Susie Nestor finishing first, while Cici Calhoun was fourth and Cullen Merrell was fifth. Sydney Freeman won the 400m hurdles in her outdoor debut with a time of 1:00.18. Marsibil Hafsteinsdottir had a great outdoor debut, winning the high jump with a clearance of 1.65m.
