Irish Women In Second After Opening Day of NCAA Championships

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s fencing team opened up the 2026 NCAA Fencing Championships Thursday and are currently in second place with 66 points, just one shy of Coumbia who leads the field after the opening day. Rounds 1-3 were completed today in the women’s epee, foil and sabre. In sabre, defending champion Magda Skarbonkiewicz sits in second place after winning 13-of-15 bouts.
