Cape Henlopen senior is Delaware Girls Basketball Player of the Year
After leading Cape Henlopen to a 19-3 season and the Henlopen Conference championship, Vikings senior Amalia Fruchtman has been named the Delaware Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Fruchtman leads the All-State teams selected by the Delaware Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association and announced March 20. Fruchtman averaged 21 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as Cape Henlopen earned the No. 2 seed in the DIAA Girls Basketball Tournament. The Vikings lost to Ursuline in the second round, 46-34.
