Slow Start Cost Women’s Lacrosse In ASUN Opener At Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Coastal Carolina could not overcome a five-goal first-quarter deficit in a 10-6 loss at Jacksonville in the Atlantic Sun Conference opener for both teams on Thursday afternoon. The Chanticleers fell to 6-3 overall and 0-1 in ASUN play, while Jacksonville improved to 5-2 (1-0). Jacksonville scored five times in the opening period to take early control, but Coastal Carolina responded by holding the Dolphins scoreless in the second quarter while cutting the deficit to 5-3 at halftime.
