Lady Vandals Drop Season Opener at Mater Dei
Vandalia softball opened their season on the road on Wednesday but struggled to get much scoring after the first inning and suffered at 14-4 loss at Breese Mater Dei. With two runners on in the top of the first inning, Briley Sefton reached base on an error which allowed Bella Walk and Katy Sefton to each score for a 2-0 lead and Liah Hoyle followed her with a ground ball that resulted in another Mater Dei error as Vandalia went up 3-0 midway through the first.
