LOWELL, Mass. – Graduate student Jay Ahearn (Staten Island, N.Y.) of the UMass Lowell ice hockey team has signed with the Indy Fuel, the ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, as announced by the organization on Wednesday, March 18. A graduate transfer from Niagara, Ahearn spent one season with the River Hawks, immediately establishing himself as a leader and serving as team captain.
