MELBOURNE, FLORIDA—The pitching and defense rose to the occasion when the Central College softball team needed it most in a pair of nail-biting wins Thursday. Central (13-1) completes its trip to Florida with a 10-0 mark after Hamilton University (N.Y.) 4-3 and the University of Massachusetts – Boston 5-3. Hamilton (2-5) outhit Central by a 9-4 margin but the Dutch took advantage of three errors by the Continentals.
