MAMMOTHS FALL TO #1 ATHENAS, 5-2
CLAREMONT, CA — The #14 Amherst College women’s tennis team put up a spirited fight against #1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center, but fell 5–2 to the nation’s top-ranked program to move to 3–3 on the season. Back-to-back losses to #7 Pomona-Pitzer and #1 CMS make for a challenging middle stretch of the California trip, though Amherst showed it could compete at the highest level with its strong doubles showing and several tight singles matches.
