AIKEN, S.C. – In the final round of match play, No. 8 Wake Forest women’s golf defeated No. 16 Mississippi State 3.5-1.5 in the third place match at Old Barnwell Derby in Aiken, S.C The match remained even throughout the first nine holes, with both teams staying within a point of the other. Wake Forest, however, jumped ahead as the match progressed and would stay that way until the end.
