Virginia Wesleyan pulled away in the second half to defeat Goucher, 15-9, on Tuesday afternoon in Virginia Beach. Goucher came out sharp, controlling much of the first quarter and building a 4-2 lead. Virginia Wesleyan responded just before halftime and then took over after the break. Reese Morgenthaler sparked the surge, scoring three goals, including back-to-back unassisted tallies late in the second quarter, to tie the game at 5-5 heading into halftime.
