Park鈥檚 Palmer O鈥機onnor takes on the nation鈥檚 best at the USATF U20 Championships
PARKVILLE, Mo. — Palmer O鈥機onnor of the Park University Track & Field and Cross Country programs competed in Eugene, Or. at the USATF U20 Championships on Thursday and Friday this past week.
Palmer, of De Soto, Kan., finished out his freshman season as a national qualifier with the men鈥檚 4x800m relay team and was the 2025 Heart of America Athletic Conference 1,500m Champion.
He qualified to the U20 Championships with times of 1:52.18 and 3:57.85 in the 800m and 1,500m, both within the top 10 in Park鈥檚 all-time records.
Hayward Field at the University of Oregon was the site for the championships, where O鈥機onnor would place 7th in the 1,500m and 11th in the 800m.
O鈥機onnor crossed the 800m event with a time of 1:53.67 against 14 competitors, mostly NCAA Division I student-athletes.
On day two, O鈥機onnor came across the line in the 1,500m at 4:06.32 to close out his USATF U20 experience.
