Michael Woolridge named head football coach at Tri-Cities

ATLANTA — Michael Woolridge, who led Pebblebrook to its first playoff appearance since 2022 and a Top 10 power-ranking in Cobb County, GA football, has been announced as Tri-Cities鈥 Head Football Coach. Woolridge will be replacing Rodney Hackney.

Prior to Pebblebrook, Woolridge previously was the Head Coach of South Atlanta, where his teams finished with two region titles and a 22-3 record, and before that the Head Coach at his alma mater, Hardaway in Columbus, where he took the program to three consecutive State-playoff appearances after a 10-year drought. Hardaway had won only seven games in the five seasons prior to Woolridge getting the job and was 29-23 in his five seasons. Woolridge going into his 19th season, known as a true players’ coach, played college football at Eastern Kentucky and has consistently led respectable winning programs in all GHSA classifications from 2A to 6A all over the state of Georgia.

鈥淭ri-Cities has everything: an outstanding administration, strong community support and dedicated student-athletes working hard to be the best that they can be on and off the field,鈥 Woolridge said. 鈥淭he tremendous opportunity to be in the Fulton County School District, with its commitment to achieving excellence, on and off the field, is exciting to say the least. Importantly, I鈥檓 also thankful to have led Pebblebrook and for what we achieved, and I wish Da Brook continued great success.鈥
