1. Tom Seaver, RHP (1967-77, 1983)
Seaver finished his remarkable 20-year MLB career with other teams, but he will long be recognized as the best pitcher to ever suit up for the Mets. The 1992 Baseball Hall of Fame inductee made an immediate impact in the Big Apple, earning 1967 NL Rookie of the Year honors while making the first of seven consecutive All-Star appearances. Seaver made 12 All-Star games in his career, leading the National League in wins and ERA three times, and in strikeouts five times. One of Seaver鈥檚 best seasons came in 1969 when he won a career-high 25 games with a 2.21 ERA and 208 strikeouts, leading the Mets to a World Series title. Seaver, whose No. 41 is retired by the Mets, claimed Cy Young Awards in 1969, 1973 and 1975, and remains the franchise leader in wins (198), strikeouts (2,541), complete games (171) and shutouts (44).
