1. Tony Gwynn, OF (1982-2001)
When baseball fans think of the Padres, Gwynn is likely one of the first players who comes to mind. It鈥檚 hard to find players who last 20 years in the big leagues, let alone with one franchise as Gwynn did from 1982-2001. During that stretch, Gwynn made 15 All-Star games, including 11 consecutive appearances from 1989-1999. The star outfielder earned five Gold Glove Awards and seven Silver Slugger Awards during his MLB career. He also led the big leagues in hits seven times and was an eight-time National League batting champion. Overall, Gwynn hit a franchise-leading .338 in his career, and also ranks No. 1 in Padres history in hits (3,141), RBIs (1,138), runs (1,383) and on-base percentage (.388). Gwynn had his No. 19 retired by the Padres in 2004, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.
