Jayden Quaintance transferring: 5 landing spots for star freshman
TEMPE, Ariz. (BVM) – The Arizona State Sun Devils were a tough watch for most of the 2024-25 season, but they did have two standout freshmen in Joson Sanon and Jayden Quaintance. Unfortunately, neither will be back in Tempe.
The former is headed to St. John’s and the latter is entering the portal while recovering from ACL surgery. He is expected to be back by the start of next season.
NEWS: Arizona State's Jayden Quaintance, a projected top-5 pick in the 2026 Draft, underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL, his father Haminn told ESPN.
He'll be cleared for contact by September, and will explore entering the transfer portal.

Quaintance, a consensus five-star recruit, was one of the best defensive centers in college basketball, averaging 2.9 blocks. He also chipped in eight points per game and 7.9 rebounds.Â
The soon-to-be 18-year-old is one of the portal’s best assets and he will have schools lining up to land him. These programs have the best shot.
