2. Luke LaCourse, RHP, Bay City Western
LaCourse is one of several Michigan seniors who will remain in the Wolverine State after their high school careers, committing to play at Michigan State in 2023. LaCourse should prove to be a valuable addition to the Spartans鈥 pitching staff with a strong low-90s fastball and a highly impressive slider that in February. First, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound righthander will aim to finish his high school career on a high note at Bay City Western this spring. As a junior, LaCourse helped the Warriors win over 30 games, going 12-1 with a 0.57 ERA. LaCourse also struck out 115 batters while giving up only 27 walks across 74 鈪 innings in 2024, and threw his first career no-hitter.
