Owen Freeman transferring: 5 landing spots for Iowa big man
Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin was in the running to land Freeman out of high school before he committed to Iowa and it would not be surprising to see Greg Gard and the Badgers have interest again a couple of years later. After being picked to finish 12th in the Big Ten preseason poll, Wisconsin has exceeded expectations with an impressive 26-9 season while earning a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. A big reason for the success has been a strong group of seniors led by 2024 transfer John Tonje, guard Max Klesmit and forward Steven Crowl. Gard will need to retool his roster during the offseason, though, and will likely seek a big man in the portal with the loss of Crowl. Freeman would be a nice replacement who could dominate down low on both ends for the Badgers while playing alongside versatile 7-footer Nolan Winter.
