The Lincoln, Nebraska, native seems comfortable coaching his hometown Cornhuskers, but do not rule anything out in the modern age of college basketball. The Hawkeyes have not made the Sweet 16 since 1999, and the program could look to make a splash. Hoiberg won Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2024 and led Nebraska to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade, but it is likely on the outside looking in this year. He has been with the school for six years and he might be open to starting the next chapter of his career. Hoiberg knows the area well after spending five seasons with Iowa State before accepting the Chicago Bulls鈥� head-coaching job in 2015.
