10 most impactful players for 2025 NCAA women’s basketball tournament
4. Hannah Hidalgo, G, Notre Dame
Notre Dame has struggled a bit recently, losing three of its last five games. However, the Fighting Irish remain one of the most dangerous teams in women’s college basketball thanks to a deep group of contributors like leading rebounder Liatu King, assist leader Olivia Miles and skilled senior Sonia Citron. The best among the group, though, is Hidalgo, who was recently named ACC Player of the Year as a sophomore. Hidalgo, also the back-to-back ACC Defensive Player of the Year, is a terrific on-ball defender who averages 3.7 steals. She is just as impressive offensively, averaging 24.2 points – the fourth-most in the country – along with 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 46.6% from the field and over 40% from deep. Not many guards match her two-way talent, and she could lead Notre Dame a long way in March.
