10 most impactful players for 2025 NCAA women鈥檚 basketball tournament
9. Joyce Edwards, F, South Carolina
Multiple South Carolina stars could be mentioned in this space as the Gamecocks have an incredibly deep team with nine players who play at least 19 minutes per game for Dawn Staley. Perhaps the biggest x-factor in the Gamecocks winning their third national championship in the last four seasons will be their lone first-team All-SEC player, Edwards. The talented 6-foot-3 freshman forward has lived up to the billing in her first year in Columbia, averaging a team-leading 13.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals. Edwards isn鈥檛 a deep shooter, but scores at an efficient 55% clip from the floor. If she continues to build on her efficient play in her first go-around in March Madness alongside other stars like MiLaysia Fulwiley, Chloe Kitts and Te-Hina Paopao, South Carolina will be extremely hard to beat.
