McMillan was a candidate for a few jobs last offseason after Samford made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2000. He has a 99-50 record at the college level and he was previously a successful coach at the Alabama high-school level, winning the national coach of the year award in 2018. His Bulldogs took a slight dip in 2024-25, but at 41 years old, he is an exciting up and comer.
