Hoover鈥檚 Landon Reifsnyder: Shooting for success
NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Eighth-grader Landon Reifsnyder is shining on the court, following in his father鈥檚 footsteps and their shared love of the game. His dad, 2002 Hoover High graduate Steve Reifsnyder, was a dedicated basketball player in high school. He plays along with Landon, just as he has since Landon first began dribbling a basketball in kindergarten. Whether they鈥檙e shooting hoops in the driveway or heading to Swish 365 for extra practice, the bond they share through basketball is unshakable.
Landon鈥檚 neighborhood of College Estates is a perfect spot for a young athlete. There鈥檚 always a group of kids ready to shoot hoops, making it easy for Landon to stay sharp while having fun with friends.

While basketball is his primary focus, Landon has been passionate about football since second grade. This past season, he played outside linebacker and halfback for the North Canton Middle School team. Balancing both sports can be challenging; he hopes to continue to play in high school and be the best teammate he can be.
When the school season wraps up, Landon keeps his skills sharp by playing on an AAU team, Stark County Elite. He knows the importance of staying prepared, which includes getting a good night鈥檚 sleep and listening to music to pump himself up before a game. His pregame playlist and winning mindset set the tone for his performance.
As Landon grows as an athlete, he鈥檚 also learned the value of teamwork. 鈥淚t takes every person to do their part, or nothing will work,鈥 he shares. 鈥淭eamwork wins games.鈥 That lesson is a cornerstone of his approach to both basketball and football.
When he鈥檚 not on the court or the field, you might find Landon watching his favorite teams on TV. He鈥檚 an enthusiastic fan of Ohio State, the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and, of course, LeBron James with the Lakers.
For Landon, sports are more than just games鈥攖hey鈥檙e a way of life. 鈥淚t鈥檚 fun playing with a lot of friends,鈥 he says, reflecting on the close bonds he鈥檚 built with teammates, many of whom he鈥檚 been playing alongside since the second grade.
As Landon continues to grow as an athlete, his dedication to teamwork, his love for the game, and his supportive community will undoubtedly pave the way for success both on and off the court.
