Devonte Ross transferring: 5 possible landing spots for WR
Iowa Hawkeyes
Outside of running back Kaleb Johnson, Iowa’s offense has lacked explosive playmakers in recent years. That’s especially true within the Hawkeyes’ passing attack which ranks just 130th out of 133 FBS teams in 2024 despite the switch to new offensive coordinator Tim Lester. Quarterback may be the biggest need for Kirk Ferentz in the transfer portal, but bringing in a wide receiver who can make a big play anytime they touch the ball like Ross would be beneficial. Iowa had just one receiver surpass 200 yards in the regular season: junior Jacob Gill. Ross is capable of posting bigger numbers regardless of who Iowa’s quarterback is in 2025, something Ferentz and the Hawkeyes got a first-hand look at earlier this season as Ross put up 142 yards and three total touchdowns against them in Iowa City.
