Maalik Murphy transferring: 5 possible landing spots

Big Ten champion Oregon is the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff, so the focus for Dan Lanning right now remains winning a national title. However, in a little over a month, veteran quarterback Dillon Gabriel will depart as he is out of college eligibility. Former five-star Dante Moore might be the next man up at quarterback for the Ducks who also have a four-star talent with Austin Novosad and a couple of young quarterbacks coming in. Still, a chance to add Murphy could be tough to pass up for Lanning. Becoming the next quarterback in a high-flying Oregon offense led by coordinator Will Stein could also be an intriguing opportunity for Murphy. Bo Nix and Gabriel have thrived in Stein鈥檚 system recently as strong and accurate passers, and Murphy has a similar skill set that could keep the Ducks in the national title mix in 2025.
