Top 10 Washington boys basketball players in Class of 2025
1. Jaylen Petty, PG, Rainier Beach
Petty is an impressive all-around player who will follow in the footsteps of many talented former guards at Rainier Beach this season. Petty began his prep career at Auburn High School and was twice named 3A Puget Sound League MVP. Last season, the 6-foot, 165-pound guard averaged 25.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.7 steals as he led the Trojans to the 3A state tournament. Petty can impact the game in multiple ways, but his greatest asset is his scoring as he has quickness to get to the rim and is a knock-down shooter from deep. Petty will make Rainier Beach a state title favorite this season playing alongside Kaden Powers and some other highly skilled players. The four-star prospect will then play collegiately at New Mexico, choosing the Lobos over Oklahoma, Stanford and Washington, among others.
Jaylen Petty is a player who left a lasting impression on me after his performance . Petty seems to be carrying the torch as one of the next great guards out of Rainier Beach HS.
