West was the first signee of Purdue’s 2025 class. He heads into his senior season at Toledo’s Whitmer High School with 1,477 career points.
Chosen as the Toledo Blade’s 2024 Player of the Year, West averaged 20..3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists as a junior. The Panthers reached the OHSAA Division I semifinals and West was an all-state first-teamer in that same grouping.
ESPN considers West to be a four-star prospect and the third-best in Ohio, while On3 and 247Sports rate him as a three-star. He also had offers from Nebraska, Dayton, and Ohio State — who were all finalists.
