Top 10 SEC basketball players for the 2024-25 season
6. Walter Clayton Jr., G, Florida
Clayton Jr. is one of several experienced guards on this list who will have a big impact on Florida making it back to the NCAA Tournament this season. Clayton Jr. began his collegiate career at Iona and emerged as a star playing for Rick Pitino as he became the MAAC Player of the Year in 2023 while putting up 16.8 points per game. Clayton Jr. made a seamless transition to the SEC last season and averaged a career-high 17.6 points in addition to 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals. He also shot just over 43% from the field and a solid 36.5% from 3-point range while earning second-team All-SEC honors. Scoring is Clayton Jr.鈥檚 greatest attribute, but his ability to impact the game in multiple facets makes him one of the most invaluable players in the league.
