Top 10 SEC basketball players for the 2024-25 season
8. Josh Hubbard, G, Mississippi State
Hubbard is one of several exciting sophomores in the SEC this season who made the conference’s all-freshman team in 2023-24. Like several of the SEC’s top players, the biggest thing that stands out about Hubbard is his scoring ability as he is a volume shooter who took over a third of Mississippi State’s shots last season. While his efficiency could still increase, Hubbard posted an impressive scoring average of 17.1 points as a freshman and had 13 games with 20 or more points, highlighted by back-to-back late-season contests where he put up 32 and 34-point efforts. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound guard is a nice fit in Chris Jans’ system as a 35% 3-point shooter and has the potential to lead the SEC in scoring in year two with the Bulldogs.
