3. Mike Thomas, RB (1973-74)
Thomas tore through town like a tornado and left an indelible mark on campus. Thomas earned recognition as the Rebels’ first-team All-American. The 5-foot-11 Texan would secure a slew of school records in that time. Thomas was enshrined as a UNLV Hall of Famer in 1989.

Led by QB Glen Carano and RB Mike Thomas, they finished 12-1, won the cannon, and lost to Delaware in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
Carano went on to play seven seasons for the Dallas Cowboys and Thomas was the 1975 NFC ROY.
