Hadl was a hometown hero who left his mark in Lawrence. The 6-foot-1 signal caller could also kick and defend. In 1959, Hadl was the leader (45.6 yards per). He capped off his college career with bowl win over Rice, in the 1961 Bluebonnet Bowl.
