Q&A with Steamboat Springs football players Thomas Krupp and Tanner Cobb
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — Recently, I had the opportunity to catch up with Scott Przymus, head coach of the Sailors Football team. That story was created just before their first game of the season. Since then, the Sailors have been on a tear and are currently undefeated at 4-0. That鈥檚 a pretty awesome start to the season. I caught up with the dynamic duo of Tanner Cobb (quarterback) and Thomas Krupp (running back) to ask a few questions.
Both players are in the class of 2026.

What are your personal goals within your sport/athletic dreams?
Thomas Krupp: 1000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards.
Tanner Cobb: I have many different goals when it comes to sports, but one of my biggest goals/dreams is to play at the next level, which means continuing my sports journey after High School.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
Thomas Krupp: Not everyone will have the same story or outcome, so make mine unique. Play every play like it鈥檚 your last play.
Tanner Cobb: Coach Przymus always tells us to 鈥渟tay steady鈥 and not let our emotions control us.
What do you love about your sport?
Thomas Krupp: Everything, Teammates and the Game.
Tanner Cobb: I love many things about football, but the thing I love the most is the brotherhood that comes with it. I have my family at home, but once I enter school or anywhere around town, I have a whole new family of brothers.

Do you follow a pregame ritual?
Thomas Krupp: I drink Liquid IV and listen to Tre loaded.
Tanner Cobb: My pregame ritual is no big deal. I try to stay on schedule with the things I do on any game day, including eating right, watching film, and listening to music.
Can you explain the connection or partnership you have found with each other and with the support and execution of the rest of your team to be big playmakers?
Thomas Krupp: Our connection is one of the strongest ever. We know what the other person is going to do, and being able to play with him since middle school has made us quite the backfield.
Tanner Cobb: Thomas and I started playing together in 7th grade when I moved here. Ever since that first day of practice, I knew we had something special; not only was it just us that had something special, but it was everyone. The receivers and I had a great connection; Cohen and I have always just been synced. I have never had to worry about my line. They are the real reason for most of our success.
What do you like to do outside of your sport?
Thomas Krupp: Fish, Snowboard, Cook
Tanner Cobb: Outside of sports, I like to hang out with friends and family, go to the gym, and enjoy just driving around.

What have you learned from being part of a team?
Thomas Krupp: It鈥檚 taught me how to be a leader in the community.
Tanner Cobb: It has taught me that a winning team requires all 11 members, and no one person can carry the load.
Describe a mistake you made while competing and how you overcame it.
Thomas Krupp: In our last game against Aspen, I ran the wrong route, and then, on that same play later in the game, I ended up scoring a 50-yard touchdown.
Anything else you鈥檇 like to add?
Tanner Cobb: Our success right now comes from everyone鈥攖he whole team, their efforts, and the support from the town.
GO SAILORS!
