Mazama football player Kris Baldwin named OSAA Athlete of the Week

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — In a week 1 victory over cross-town rival Klamath Union, Mazama Senior RB Kris Baldwin had himself a night leading all rushers. In the 46th Canal Bowl Baldwin packed the ball 17 times for 342 yards and 4 touchdowns. His longest TD of the night was 81 yards leading the Vikings over the Pelicans 55-24.

The Oregon Schools Athletic Association (OSAA) recognizes and highlights outstanding performances each week. Last week, Baldwin was named the OSAA Toyota Athlete of the Week for his performance against Klamath Union.

Baldwin is a 3-Sport Athlete at Mazama High School (Football, Wrestling, Track and Field). Mazama Head Football Coach Orlyn Culp speaks very highly not only of Kris’s athletic abilities but also who he is as an individual. Baldwin excels in the classroom and has ambitions to continue his playing career after high school.

Congratulations to Kris Baldwin on an outstanding individual performance in Week 1 of the football season! The Vikings will host the Lava Bears of Bend in their home opener this Friday, September 20th at Viking Stadium at Mazama High School. The following week, the Vikings will host Yreka (CA) in their homecoming game.
