3. Christopher Burgess Jr., Sr., Simeon
Burgess Jr. is a versatile player for Simeon who can play on the interior and the outside of the Wolverines’ defensive line. Last season, Burgess Jr. impressed despite dealing with injuries with 13 sacks in addition to 36 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles for a .500 Simeon squad. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound senior has good length and is quick at the line of scrimmage, part of why he is rated as a four-star recruit and a in the Class of 2025. The talented edge rusher should be in line for another strong season this fall before he becomes an exciting addition to Marcus Freeman’s defense at Notre Dame, committing to the Fighting Irish in January while holding around three dozen Division I offers.
