East St. Louis continues to be a powerhouse program in Illinois with multiple state championship appearances in recent years, including a state title victory in 2022. The success has been thanks in part to a skilled offense with one of the top players being Martin. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound senior has proven to be a reliable threat for the Flyers when on the field, rushing for 1,557 yards and 24 touchdowns while averaging nearly eight yards per carry in their state championship season in 2022. Last year, Martin suffered a broken ankle that limited him to 496 yards and 12 scores. The talented East St. Louis back is healthy and poised for a strong senior campaign before he plays college football at Kent State, committing to the Golden Flashes over interested Power 4 programs like Indiana, Louisville and West Virginia.
