9. Charles Bass III, S, East St. Louis

Bass III is one of the premier seniors in the St. Louis area and in preparation for a successful finish to his prep career this fall. Last season, Bass III and the Flyers finished runner-up in Class 6A while trying to defend their state title from the previous season, going 10-3 overall. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety was a true bright spot on East St. Louis’ defense, making over 80 total tackles with one interception, one sack and two fumble recoveries. Bass III has quick feet, good range and is a solid tackler, attributes that intrigued several high-major schools including Arkansas, Illinois and Kansas State. Ultimately, Bass III decided to join a Missouri program that continues to get better under Eli Drinkwitz, committing to the Tigers this past July.
